For Monday, write a one-paragraph-long micro-essay in which you compare and contrast Rodriguez's and Mukherjee's arguments regarding assimilation.  Be sure to provide evidence from the texts and to explain how the evidence supports your claims regarding:

a) what Rodriguez and Mukherjee are arguing wrt. assimilation, and

b) the ways in which their arguments on this subject are similar and/or different.

Requirements:

·Must be typed and double-spaced.

·For the Mukherjee essay, cite page number when quoting

Example: Mukherjee recalls that in India, "[her] identity was viscerally connected with ancestral soil and genealogy" (2).

I have made a few additional slight changes to our April and May calendars.  The updated calendars may be resistant to uploading, as they were the last time I made changes, but I will also announce the slight changes in class.  One important recent change is that our literary analysis and rhetoric terms quiz will now be on Wednesday, May 9.
