Homework for Monday, August 20, 2007

For Monday, write a one-paragraph-long micro-essay in which you compare and contrast Rodriguez's and Mukherjee's arguments regarding assimilation.  Be sure to provide evidence from the texts and to explain how the evidence supports your claims regarding:

a) what Rodriguez and Mukherjee are arguing wrt. assimilation, and

b) the ways in which their arguments on this subject are similar and/or different.

 

Requirements:

·Must be typed and double-spaced.

·For the Mukherjee essay, cite page number when quoting

Example: Mukherjee recalls that in India, "[her] identity was viscerally connected with ancestral soil and genealogy" (2).
